1993 Hall of Fame Game
The Hall of Fame Game, which was to feature the Los Angeles Dodgers and Cleveland Indians on Aug. 2, 1993, was canceled due to rain.
The cancellation marked the fourth time in Hall of Fame Game history that the game was totally washed out.
The Indians were scheduled to play in their first Hall of Fame Game since 1988, while the Dodgers had not played in the annual Cooperstown exhibition since 1972.
For the third time in five years, the Hall of Fame Game was not played – twice due to inclement weather and once due to travel difficulties experienced by the Cincinnati Reds in 1989.
Through 1993, 47 Hall of Fame Games had been played – with the American League leading the all-time series 26-17 with four ties.
