Honeywell became the first Future’s Game pitcher to win the award, helping the United States team to a 7-6 victory over the World team, with the United States winning its 12th Futures Game since it was created in 1999.
Honeywell is the Rays’ No. 2 prospect and MLB’s No. 22 top prospective player.
“I’ve never been to Cooperstown,” Honeywell said, “but I’m absolutely going to go now.”
