1974 Hall of Fame Game
In the second-highest scoring Hall of Fame Game since its inception in 1939, the Atlanta Braves out-hit the Chicago White Sox to win 12-9 on Aug. 12, 1974, at Doubleday Field.
Atlanta came up big in the top of the first inning, scoring five runs in the first frame against Chicago starter Larry Monroe.
Monroe settled down after that, allowing another Atlanta run in the top of the second, but pitching a scoreless third inning to end his outing.
Meanwhile, Chicago scored a run in each of the first three innings to bring the score to 6-3.
The Braves scored in both the fourth and fifth innings before the White Sox came back with a three-run fifth.
