Hall of Famer Ryne Sandberg Featured in Labor Day Voices of the Game event at the Museum
Holiday Morning Event Spotlights MVP Second Baseman; Entry to Program Included with Museum Admission
As summer comes to a close, the action continues in Cooperstown on Labor Day as the Museum presents a memorable Voices of the Game program, featuring a Hall of Fame legend.
Ryne Sandberg, a 2005 Hall of Fame inductee following a 16-year big league career that featured 10 All-Star Game selections and nine Gold Glove Awards, will be featured in a discussion of his career and today’s game at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7 in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum’s Grandstand Theater. Sandberg, who will be in Cooperstown to serve as the Hall of Fame Ambassador for the traditional post-Labor Day Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open Pro-Am Sept. 8, won the 1984 National League Most Valuable Player Award for the Cubs, with whom he spent all but one of his big league seasons after debuting with the Phillies in 1981.
Tickets for the Labor Day Voices of the Game program are included with Museum admission on Monday, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. The one-hour program will feature memorable stories from Sandberg and a question-and-answer session with the audience.
